Text to landline messaging
[2008-04-02]
How it works:
1. Send a text message from your mobile phone to any landline phone number in Canada or the U.S. Once the message has been delivered to the recipient's landline, the system will send a delivery notification message back to you.
2. A call is placed to the recipient, and he or she is offered the option of listening to your message in voice format. If there is no answer, the message is left on the recipient's answering service. If no answering service is available, the system will attempt to deliver the message until the maximum number of rings is reached. It will then retry after 10 minutes and again after 15 minutes.
3. After listening to your message, the recipient will be given the option of replying by recording a voice message.
4. If the recipient chooses to reply, the system will send you a text message, indicating there is a response to your original text to landline message.
5. You can retrieve this response by dialling the toll-free call-back number in the text message.
Important information:
Text to landline messaging is available in both English and French. You can also choose to send a text in English and have it delivered as a French voice message, or vice versa. Simply text E for English and F for French to the number 4122 before sending your text to landline message.
Standard text messaging rates apply. Each text to landline message will be charged 15˘ per message sent or as 1 text message from a text messaging bundle on your account.
